What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a skin restoration process utilizing a controlled vacuum and fine aluminum oxide crystals to gently clear away dead and sun damaged skin cells revealing softer, smoother and more vibrant looking skin. By repeating this treatment over the course of several weeks, the younger, softer skin moves up to the surface. The desired effect of significant texture and color improvements will continue with time. Microdermabrasion is the safest alternative to laser resurfacing and chemical peels with absolutely no downtime. A cleansing toner is first applied to the skin to remove excess oils for better application and penetration. The machine then delivers fine, sanitary aluminum oxide crystals or to the face that "sand blasts" away dead skin and impurities. Afterwards a soothing toner is applied to the face and then a re-hydrating cream and sun block are applied.
